drawing challenge: coca cola

The theme of the drawing challenge this week, coca cola, reminded me of
"The Gods Must Be Crazy", a 1980 South African comedy film.

A Kalahari bushman discovers a Coke bottle, thrown from a passing plane, in the
middle of the desert, which he believes is a gift from the gods. The "gift" proves to
be more of a curse than a blessing when the tribesmen begin to fight over it and
eventually use it as a weapon. To keep peace in the village, the tribesman decides
to take the bottle to "the end of the earth"and throw it back to the gods.

For the images I've used two stills from the film and digitally transformed them
into a pop style.

Please have a look on Rachel's site Hi Happy Panda to see more work on the theme.
Thank you Rachel for hosting this drawing challenge.

Oh, I have never seen this film, too, like Nadine. So, thank you for introducing it to me, dear Eric.
I am fine with your pop art! The repeating pattern moves my eyes in circles... or is the coke, that I am drinking?

Best,
Ariane.

I love that movie Eric! It was one of the first things I thought about for this challenge...mainly because I don't drink any pop at all. Well done you. :)

I remember this film! It's been so long...
It looks like we both were called to create some pop art for this theme. makes sense, pop, soda, soda pop, pop art!
Thank you for joining participating. I have been out of the loop for a bit, but am back to my blog and these fab challenges. They keep me fresh and inspired.
Have a great day and it's nice to meet you. Your artwork is incredible by the way. Rich textures and palettes. Lovely.

Ha, I totally forgot this film, but you brought it back to my mind! It's such a good one! Your pop art variety on these film stills is great! Love the colours and the scenes you've chosen!
And thank you so much for your piece of artwork!! It's now hanging on my bathroom wall, where it fits the tile colours perfectly! :-)
