water

"Water is fluid, soft and yielding. But water will wear
away rock, which is rigid and cannot yield.

As a rule, whatever is fluid, soft,
and yielding will overcome whatever is rigid and hard.

collage and décollage, strips of different kinds of torn paper,
acrylic brilliant blue, each part 12,5 x 12,5 cm.

This is another paradox: what is soft is strong". Lao - Tzu.

Hello Eric,
coming via Patrice and the dc, ja, it is nice to find you and your blog here!
'what is soft is strong' is an most applicable quote here (even your words) and illustrates your beautiful collage and décollage in a special way. Great!

Ariane.

I have visited your blog off and on over several years, Eric, and always love what I see here in your spare and enigmatic, deeply thought provoking collages. Welcome to the drawing challenge.

Hello Eric- so nice to meet here :)
I love your thoughts on this challenge- looking for contradictions in life is always on my radar...

Your work is wonderful and strong- so much texture and the colors so soft- well done and I look forward to seeing more of your work :)

Hello, yes you're so right mentioning the paradoxon that something soft like water can be stronger than a rock. Your abstract artwork with its wonderful turquois and pattern and textures evokes perfectly the feeling of sitting and watching the ocean!
Nice to meet you this way!
