"From the ocean, from the sea"
This week's drawing challenge is "something from the ocean".
It brought me back to these pieces, inspired by the sea, the ocean.

There was also a beautiful exhibition "De Zee", A Salut d'Honneur to Jan Hoet,
the Belgian founder of SMAK ( The Municipal Musem for Contemporary Art)
in Ghent, Belgium. He passed away in 2014.

these pieces do remind me of the ocean, the wonderful ocean colors. Fresh and reminiscent of beach towels and sails, sand and water. thank you for the poem too.

thank you for your rich post. It netted your artwork, the poem by Pablo Neruda (the music fits really good, I think) and the hint for the exhibition by/for Jan Hoet. What a range... as the ocean.

All wonderful. Your image conjures up a boardwalk and summer fun, blue sea, golden light, warm sunshine, all things I love. The Pablo Neruda poem with it...what can I say, he's one of the ever best poets ever lived and, after my true love Jan Neruda, possibly my favourite...except then there's Mary Oliver and Sylvia Plath...sigh. The link to that exhibition is wonderful too. I especially love the work of Marlene Dumas. x
