Annie Kerr, a board found on the beach in July 2012 ,dimensions approx 8 inch square
Weathered gloss paint and spray paint on chipboard.

Into the blue

Gazing out to sea,
ankle deep, first thing,
the city stutters behind you,
an accordian learning to breathe.
A lone yacht creeps
from harbour,
scratches a line
across pale formica.

Last night's dark lip
rinses into the clear eye
of this new start,
and every cell in you remembers
the flight, the fall,
the dive, the soar
through pools of light
and oceans of sky.

The tide turns to metal rush
and whispers
azure, cyan, cerulean.
