It might be a color name. But it isn't. Well, if you Google it in combination with
a color name, you get nice results , like swoon maroon. And wandering through
the wikipedia List of colors you'll find beautiful names.
I also found Color Thesaurus, a collection of 12 color charts that list the correct
names of all shades, created by Ingrid Sundberg, a writer and illustrator.
Back to where I begun. Swoon as a color.
Some weeks ago I worked on a series of mosaics that could be seen
on my worktable. They were inspired by the colors of autumn.
I decided to call them "the swoon orange series".
Each 12,5 x 12,5 cm, collage, paint, mono-type.

So EXCITING...the color, the design and the feel!
The grid design works so well in this series.
how fun that you have called this the swoon orange series. it makes one stop to consider, catchy name and wonderful autumn pieces eric. Thanks for joining in. I love that you found swoon mixed with colors.
Ha, you better take a look at my blog, you'll understand. Swoon maroon makes me think about wallpaint from the building market. And i dont mean that bad, you also see the colour coffee, or ocean blue. I prefer your autumn colours, they are warm and they feel swoon (good). xx Joke.
I don't quite get abstract art but I like the colors you've used, as orange is a happy color.
have a great day.
Swoon -- yes, wonderful evocation of a response to deep emotion, art, music, poetry -- thank you for this post! And for the Rothko film, which I will watch over and over. Just saw one of his works up in Massachusetts last week. a humbling experience.
Lovely grouping of swoon-worthy oranges Eric. Off to see the Mark Rothko post. (like his last name...lol)
