Exploring the theme of the "drawing challenge this week, "Inner Eye",
my attention was drawn to "
this painting" of Morris Graves.
It reminded me of a flock of birds. But also of their ability (maybe their "inner eye"...)
to find their way back, even after having flown long distances.
Please visit Susan Christensen's blog,
"flying dog studio design wall", to see more "inner eyes".
Thank you Susan for hosting this dc.

such wonderful thoughts, inner eye and migrating birds! lovely photos and art.... you will have to look at the photo i shared.... a flock is there too.
Yes isn't it so fascinating how they all know when to fly & change direction.....I agree it must be an inner eye!
Glad you have discovered more in Morris G., Eric. A nice fresh interpretation, and a contrast I feel - yours the light and his the darker take.

yes, now, that is something to wonder about, those flocks of birds, always finding exactly what they need and want : destination. and then doing it. n♥
Good idea, probably some birds really have that third eye. Sense of location in time and place!
Hi Eric. Delicate vision. Wonderful interpretation.
Until next week..... I'm hosting....
That's one thing I love so much Eric. In the shorter days of summer, and, while I'm still here in E, the murmurations begin. Huge flocks of starlings moving in waves as one. Hope you get them where you are too. Have a happy week ahead. :)
oh I love this idea!! and the connection you made with that painting- really wonderful- those birds are inspiring- I love the repeat image and color- very modern and yet speaks to something ancient :)
;^))
wat een goed idee
ik vind het prachtig, zo'n wolk vogels die patronen maken in de lucht
als muziek
mmm....
dankjewel!
