Some months ago Seth Apter asked me for his ongoing project The Pulse: If you could take a class from one artist from anytime in history, including the present, who would it be and why? My answer was: I would have a look over the shoulder of Robert Rauschenberg, especially while working on his early works. Antonio Tapies and Cy Twombly are also favorites. Above a compilation of RR his work . Here you'll find a virtual tour of "travelling '70-'76" as it was shown in The Museo Arte Contemporanea Donna Regina (MADRE ), Italy in 2008-09.

WoW! What a great choice! I really love Rauschenberg's work - and even more than that, he had such an amazing spirit, was so open, so charming. From his combines, to his screen prints, to his ROCI Road experiences, a real trip through the last half of the twentieth century.
I am a little surprised by your choice of images here. Not that they are not wonderful, they are, but I am surprised to see so little color. Very interesting.
Great mosaic. Really fascinating to see so much of his work together side by side.
